If you are looking to climb hard boulder problems then at a certain point you are going to have to incorporate some power training into your routine.  Most climbers accomplish this by training on a campus board.  However, to give you a slightly different perspective as well as some serious power training motivation, here’s a video of British climber Louis Parkinson training power through a series of impressive exercises that consist of campusing, dynos, and plyometrics.

While this video does not give you any insight into how Louis structures his training, the exercises/feats of strength he performs are extremely impressive and display a serious level of power.  We wouldn’t recommend heading straight to your local gym and trying these yourself.  Instead, use this video as a source of motivation.  Not only does Louis look exceptionally powerful, but he also looks like he’s have a great time training and trying his hardest.  Give the video a watch bellow.

If you are in need of some power training, check out the articles linked to below about campus training for some general advice or check out our subscription Bouldering Training Program by Kris Peters for a more structured and detailed way to improve your power and up your bouldering level.
