Training for climbing is exploding in popularity. As a result, there’s more information available about how to improve your climbing than ever before. Unfortunately, knowing individual training techniques doesn’t mean you have the full picture. This is especially true when it comes to coaching others and in particular youth athletes.
It’s in putting the bigger picture together that climbing training and the knowledge about it is still growing. Gatherings like the upcoming Midwest Training for Climbing Conference are hugely valuable resources. TrainingBeta is excited to help promote this climbing conference and highly suggests that anyone interested in taking their training knowledge to the next level attend.
Midwest Training for Climbing Conference
The conference itself takes place in Milwaukee, but if you live in the area or are willing to travel you will be able to learn from some of the top climbing training minds. Here’s what the conference had to say about themselves:
While the sport of rock climbing has been around for many decades, training for it is still very much in its infancy. Given climbing’s recent boom in popularity, the market is now flooded with innumerable training programs and gadgets to make you a ‘better climber’. Sifting through that vast array of information may seem easy enough, but often ends in more questions, until you’re so deep down the rabbit hole, you don’t know where to go.
That’s where the First Annual Midwest Training for Climbing Conference comes in. We searched to find the most knowledgeable folks (folks such as Steve Bechtel, Kris Hampton, Justen Sjong, and Arno Ilgner) in the training for climbing world, and put them in one place to help you answer the much sought-after, “how does one become a better climber” question.
Join us in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 17th – 19th for various clinics and speakers. Be sure to check out our website at Midwesttcc.com and our Facebook page for up-to-date information. See you there!
