About Neely Quinn

I (Neely Quinn) am your host for the podcast every week, but I’m also a practicing nutrition therapist, and have been since about 2007. I’ve helped hundreds of people lose weight and get closer to optimal health, and I love working with people and studying the sometimes super confusing science of nutrition.

I take an individualized approach to nutrition, and in this podcast episode I tackle weight loss for climbers and how to approach it properly (if you need to approach it at all). It can be hard to figure out what you need to do to lose weight, so if you want help with it and you want to work with me one-on-one, just email me at neely@trainingbeta.com and tell me your situation to get started.

Just so you know, this is by no means a complete tutorial on weight loss! There’s so much to say on this topic, and everyone’s dietary path is very different. I realized after I recorded it that I didn’t even go into food quality, and which foods are the “healthiest” to eat. Like I said, everyone is different, but in general, and for weight loss, you want to eat whole foods. And if you eat something in a package, you want to make sure you recognize every ingredient on the label.

Weight Loss for Climbers

Here’s a little bit of what I talked about in the episode.

  • Calories
  • Carbs
  • Food Sensitivities
  • When to see a doctor
  • Overtraining
