For the Campus Board Long Move Drill, start with both hands on the same rung. Without your feet on anything, move one of your hands up to a rung that is a “long move” away for you. How long that move is depends on your height and ability level. Match hands on that rung and jump down. Switch sides and do the long move with your other hand, match the top rung and jump down.

Do not crimp hard or use your thumbs. Use an open-handed crimp grip and let your thumbs just be bent, not grabbing or pinching the rung.

Make this easier by using a larger rung and/or putting feet on and/or making the move smaller.

Make this harder by using a smaller rung and/or making the move longer.

The Campus Board Long Move Drill is used in our rock climbing training programs available on this page.
