Having a strong core is really beneficial in climbing. We all know that. And not just having strong abs, but all the muscles between the shoulders and the top of the thighs.

This article from dpmclimbing.com by Eric Hörst is about the importance of having a super stiff core and what it can empower you to do in climbing.

Your core muscles are a part of every full-body climbing movement. The stronger your core, the more efficiently you can maintain body tension to make a long reach or twist through a climbing move.  Achieving this strong core requires more than simply doing crunches and plank (though not bad to do!) because these exercises aren’t climbing-specific and only target one small area of the core. Other muscle groups such as your lats, hip flexors, internal and external obliques, lower back, and gluteal muscles need to be worked too.
