This is a video from Dr. Jared Vagy (of theclimbingdoctor.com) about a new climbing specific warm-up that takes less than 10 minutes! Starring in this video is Jonathan Siegrist (J-Star), demonstrating this new dynamic climbing warm-up.
“Dynamic stretching is when you smoothly move through a full range of motion spending equal time in each phase of the stretch. An example is bending down to touch your toes while counting to three and coming back up to standing while counting to three.” – Dr. Jared Vagy
Research shows that a sport specific dynamic warm-up is the best form of stretching before climbing because it really gets the blood flowing to the muscles and tendons in the body.
The video is broken down into four parts: “On the Wall”, “Rotation”, “Arms” and “Wrist and Fingers”.
So check it out and learn a new dynamic climbing warm-up! Warming up for climbing is really important….
