With fall temps just around the corner, staying injury-free or recovering from an injury seems extra important right about now.

This article from theclimbingdoctor.com shows an exercise to help with lateral elbow pain. The exercise is called the Flexbar Twist which targets and works to help strengthen the wrist extensor muscles….

The forearm is made up of two major muscle groups; the wrist flexors and extensors. Over time, the wrist flexors get tight and overdeveloped while the wrist extensors become weak and underdeveloped; creating an imbalance. This imbalance can lead to an overuse injury of the weakened extensor muscles. The most common site of this injury is at the origin of the muscle on the outside of the elbow called the lateral epicondyle.” -the Climbing Doctor (Dr. Jared Vagy)

If you are experiencing lateral elbow pain or want to prevent it, check out this exercise. It’s straightforward and doesn’t take much time at all. It’s worth it…..
