How are you about getting a good night of sleep? Are you motivated to wake up early to workout or do you get your training sessions in after work?
Have you ever wondered if your sleep schedule and the resulting time of day that you train matters?
This article from outsideonline.com addresses that question.
“It is harder to work out at night—we have social engagements, work, dinner; it can be difficult to find the right time,” says Glazer Baron. “So those people who are planning for evening workouts more often don’t get around to doing them.”
Sound about right?
According to their article, there is nothing wrong with training in the evenings for most people (studies used to show that exercising before bed could impact your sleep) as long as you actually motivate to go work out.
“If you really hate getting up early—or it’s keeping you from a full night’s sleep—it’s fine to embrace your inner night owl and exercise later in the day.”
-Glazer Baron
So, working out in the morning is beneficial from a scheduling point of view, but any time of day can work to train. Check out the full article for more details….
