Campus board training is designed to help you gain explosive power and contact strength in your fingers and arms.
Pro climber Flannery Shay-Nemirow knows how to train hard on the campus board. She is probably one of the best women out there at campusing. And she climbs hard outside as a result of this dedicated, hard training.
In this video from dpmclimbing.com she shares her campus board training tips and demonstrates how to keep advancing on the board.
She covers deadhangs, long moves, ladders, bumps, and double bumps on the campus board (and she makes it look easy). Check it out and learn how to get started campusing….
Any thoughts on how someone who is really weak could incorporate really beginning campus training into their climbing workouts? I can’t do a pull-up (despite being an experienced climber… I’m a tall female with poor levers and poor strength:weight ratio), so therefore I really can’t campus. I know sometimes there people use footboards, but I just don’t know where to start with the campus moves in that situation. Thanks!
