What It Is

To sum it up, the Bouldering Strength and Power Program is a subscription program that gives boulderers of all abilities 3 unique workouts every week in their dashboard. If you follow the program, it will make you stronger, fitter, and more powerful for just a fraction of the cost of a personal trainer (it starts at $12.49/month).

It was created by coveted climbing trainer, Kris Peters (also author of our 6-Week Power Endurance Program), and for all intents and purposes, he will be right there with you through every workout. Our mission here at TrainingBeta is to give you the most easy-to-understand, well-laid-out, and effective training programs on the market today, and we think we’ve surpassed that goal with this program.

Train With A Purpose

Instead of going to the gym without a plan (and ending up socializing most of the time), you’ll have a clear agenda in your hands complete with instructions, videos, and a purpose. You’ll go to the gym to target your weaknesses and GET STRONGER.

Here’s what you’ll be doing.

  • bouldering drills (2 days a week)
  • fingerboarding (1 day a week)
  • campusing (1 day a week during power phases)
  • lifting weights
  • training fitness (cardio and circuit workouts)
  • body weight exercises

And these workouts are not built for pro climbers with nothing but climbing and training in their agenda 🙂 They’re built for real people, so they’re always under 2.5 hours, and usually under 2. Anyone can fit at least a couple of these workouts into their schedule every week. We did that because we think everyone deserves the opportunity to see just how strong they can be – without quitting their job and neglecting their family!

What You’ll Gain

This program will make you stronger if you’re a boulderer. Period.

It will take you through 6-week cycles of power endurance, power, and strength, with a smattering of fitness throughout. Having said that, even during the power endurance and power phases, you’ll be building finger strength on the hangboard.

And even during the strength phase, you’ll be doing some power training on the campus board. And through all the phases, you’ll be maintaining your overall fitness. And don’t worry, there’s plenty of rest built into the program (one week off of intense training every 7th week) between phases to help you recover and continue improving.

That all means you’ll gain the following:

  • Finger strength
  • Dynamic power
  • Core strength
  • Power endurance (the ability to do a lot of hard moves in a row)
  • Fitness (the ability to put more burns on your project every day)
  • Mental toughness
