Two summers ago for the first BD Bootcamp Black Diamond, athletes Joe Kinder, Sam Elias, and Dan Mirsky committed to putting outdoor climbing on hold while they trained together in an effort to up their overall climbing level. This time it was the ladies’ turn as Black Diamond athletes Daila Ojeda, Babsi Zangerl, and Colette McInerney committed to doing a three-week training cycle together.
While Daila, Babsi, and Colette all came into the process with different approaches to training, they shared the common goal of improving their climbing by targeting their weaknesses and sticking to a systematic training program.
“In the end, for me, the idea to train with only women would be a cool way to motivate myself in an unfamiliar arena. Three weeks straight with anyone can be tough, and not a challenge many groups can get through without some hiccups. With girlfriends you can be real, you can be raw, you are sisters and friends.” – Collette McInerney
Below are three videos that showcase each of these athletes’ experiences during their three-week training cycle. While we aren’t all elite professional climbers, we can all learn by watching some of our sport’s top athletes go back to basics and do everything possible to improve.

Hopefully you found these videos motivating. They are the perfect example that no matter how long you’ve been climbing, with the proper motivation we can all still work hard and improve.
