One of the toughest parts about being injured is finding your reasons to stay psyched. It can be hard to feel motivated to train. Injuries are frustrating, make you sad, are limiting, and there’s never a good time for them. Obviously.
La Sportiva athlete, Courtney Sanders, snapped a tendon in her ankle right during peak sending season. Instead of sitting around doing nothing, she found ways to train hard through her injury. In this video from sportiva.com she shows us the types of exercises and training circuits she was able to do (safely) while injured.
Setting a goal can be a really helpful, motivating way to stay psyched. It helps make the idea that it’s possible to come back from an injury still a strong climber, believable. This video is inspiring; check it out to hopefully find ways that work for you to train through an injury.
