One of the quickest ways to sabotage a climbing or training session is to neglect warming up properly.  By rushing through your warm up, you deprive your body and mind the time they need to fully prepare to try hard and put forth maximal efforts.  If you are route climbing a poor warm up can manifest itself in getting flash pumped, while boulders may notice a simple inability to hang on small holds or pull their hardest.  However, the negatives of not warming up properly don’t stop at just undermining your send attempts.  It is also dangerous and a quick way to injure yourself.

To help, here’s an Express Bouldering Warm Up from coach and trainer Nick Tumminello that is designed to quickly ready your body for a bouldering session by taking you through a full range of mobility, activation, and central nervous system exercises.  In the video, Nick takes you through a series of drills that can quickly be done anywhere and will have you well on your way to a productive bouldering session in about five minutes.
